Pair upset at theft of jewellery in Dawley raid

Burglars broke into the home of an elderly couple in Dawley stealing jewellery and more than £150 in cash, police said today.
The home on Park Road was targeted between 12.30pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday. The burglars approached the property via the back garden after breaking a padlock on a gate.
They then forced open a door to the conservatory to gain access to the house.
A police spokesman said: “Several rooms in the property were completely ransacked by the thieves who stole an 18 carat gold, two-diamond twisted ring and more than £150 in cash from the master bedroom before making their escape.
“On returning home at 9.30pm, the elderly couple were extremely upset.”
